more event photos in Photo Gallery Our Winter Warmer Games Evening at Teynham Village Hall was a great success; attracting 130 people and raising seven hundred pounds for our chosen charities – RNLI Whitstable and KAB – see Charities Update – the perfect combination of fun and fundraising. On arrival, guests mingled to establish their temporary ‘Personality’ identity (from tags pinned to their collars) while lady volunteers prepared and served baked potato, chilli, cheese, Cole slaw and salad. Bob Mummery provided the music, whilst Geoff Cowling prepared the traditional games. Featuring old favourites like ‘musical hats’, ‘the schoolmaster has lost his pencil’ and ‘dress up to eat chocolate’, the highlight was ‘Mr and Mrs Ramsbottom’ – based on Stanley Holloway’s monologue ‘The Lion and Albert’. This required a lot of energy and fitness – much admired. more event photos in Photo Gallery For the less energetic, there were spot waltzes, general knowledge and mind teasing games. With special thanks to Geoff and Marion along with Bob, our gratitude goes to the team who catered, promoted and sold tickets, organised, sold and donated to the raffle, set up and cleared away and, of course, attended. And finally, we mention the couple who arrived, all the way from Deal, thinking they were at a birthday party. They looked rather surprised and then baffled at having strange names pinned on their backs. It then transpired that their birthday party was at the Teynham Community Hall further down the road!
