from Ray Clark - Intrepid Correspondent A number of members left Kent on Saturday 18th August for a trip by Chalkwell Coach and P & O Ferries to France, through Belgium and into Holland. We had lunch at Sluis, a nice little town just into Holland, but some of us (especially your correspondent) were disappointed in that we had prepared out tastebuds for the delights of the local pancakes - only to discover they were only served from about what we would refer to as "teatime". On the way back we escaped at least some of the motorways and used the coastal road. We were able to spend a couple of hours in Ostend, an attractive town we had all 'known' of course but which, surprisingly, none of our party had visited before.
