On a happily - but surprisingly - fine day, 29th July, we held our annual 'Summer Lunch' at White Chimneys.  We said 'surprisingly' there because the previous few days had seen very dodgy weather and , as late as mid-morning on the day we had been concerned that the barbecue fire might be extinguished by another 'monsoon'.

In the event members, friends and guests enjoyed an afternoon of stimulating conversation with a light hearted quiz.  Thanks to their support and generosity we have been able to make a donation of £300 to the "Friends of Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital".  A number of us have had recent experience or reports of the excellent attention that is still available at our local cottage hospital.
